"A wanton eye is a messenger of an unchaste heart" -- St. Augustine

malenude.jpg (8190 bytes)

The nude form is ancient in artistic tradition and while the female form has been in ascendancy for millennia, the male has his own version of  formal beauty.  It was once thought that the male body was less aesthetic than the female partly out of prudishness about the external genitalia and partly because in a male dominated society female nudity was seen as less threatening than male nudity.  Often the genitals  were hidden in Renaissance art by strategic placement of pose or garments. These photographs are in that classic style and are not intended to be overtly erotic.
